I am pleased to share that I am putting forward a request to proclaim April 10-April 17, 2026 as Nepali Heritage Week, aligning with the Nepali New Year, based on the request from a number of Nepali Canadian organizations including Nepalese Canadian Community Services.
The Nepali community is a growing and vibrant part of Toronto’s diverse population. Nepali-Canadians contribute actively to the city’s social, cultural, economic, and civic life, including healthcare, education, entrepreneurship, public service, arts, sports, and volunteerism.
This initiative would be the first of its kind to recognize the cultural, social, economic and political contributions of the Nepali community in Canada.
