Councillor Neethan Shan is bringing forward a motion calling on the City of Toronto to work directly with local Filipino community representatives to explore partnerships for a new Filipino cultural and community centre.
The motion asks the City to consider Scarborough and other areas of Toronto as potential locations to ensure the centre can best serve Filipino communities across the city, while building on the work of grassroots organizations that have long created spaces for the community.
