Founded in 1949, the Centennial Community and Recreation Association (CCRA) is one of the longest-standing volunteer community organizations in the Greater Toronto Area, built and sustained by residents committed to the preservation, development, and improvement of Centennial.

Since 1950, the CCRA has brought residents together to shape local decisions at a time when the community itself was still taking form, helping define how this lakeside neighbourhood would grow and evolve over generations.

CCRA became a consistent voice for residents, working closely with all levels of government and public agencies to ensure growth remained community-driven. Their advocacy has included ongoing engagement with municipal, provincial, and federal partners, ensuring community priorities are reflected in planning, development, and infrastructure decisions that affect Centennial.

Through public meetings, resident consultations, newsletters, and their long-running community newspaper, the CCRA News, along with volunteer-led initiatives, the association has consistently created space for neighbours to share feedback, raise concerns, and participate directly in shaping the future of their community.
