MEET NEETHAN

I am deeply honoured to serve as the City Councillor for Scarborough–Rouge Park, elected in September 2025. Scarborough is not just where I work. It is home. It is where my family lives, where our children are growing up, and where generations of residents have built strong, caring communities. Serving you is both a privilege and a responsibility I carry with care.

My commitment has always been simple. To make sure Scarborough is heard, respected, and invested in. Since being elected, I have worked to strengthen the spaces and services our communities rely on. I was proud to help launch the Rouge Valley Community Recreation Centre, a 94,000 square foot space where families can gather, children can grow, and neighbours can connect. I have also made it a priority to meet residents where they are, hosting community forums across Highland Creek, Malvern, West Rouge, West Hill, Guildwood, Centennial, and Morningside Heights, because every neighbourhood deserves to be heard and represented.

My journey in public service began right here in Scarborough. As a youth worker in Malvern, I worked closely with young people and families to expand programs and create opportunities. Those experiences shaped my belief that when we invest in people and communities, we build a stronger future for everyone. This belief guided my work as a school board trustee and later as Chair of the Toronto District School Board. During my previous time as City Councillor for Scarborough–Rouge River, I worked to advance major investments in our community, including advocating for the Scarborough subway extension, expanding the vision for the Rouge Valley Community Recreation Centre, and supporting pathways to local jobs.

Today, I continue to bring Scarborough’s voice to City Hall and beyond. I serve as the Mayor’s Designate on the Toronto Hydro Corporation Board of Directors, and I am a member of the Executive Committee, the Economic and Community Development Committee, Scarborough Community Council, the Board of Management of the Toronto Zoo, and the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. In every role, my focus remains the same. To advocate for our communities and help build a city that works for everyone.

My wife Thadsha and I are raising our two boys in Scarborough, and like so many families here, we care deeply about the future of our neighbourhoods. This community has given me so much, and I remain committed to giving back through service, advocacy, and partnership. I look forward to continuing this work together with you.
